SILAB has carefully prepared an action plan at different levels to control its water consumptions. Simple actions with an immediate effect are combined with a more structural analysis to realize significant long-term savings.

A ten-member team works daily to optimize water consumptions by the installation of 130 water meters.This rigorous monitoring has identified a number of consumption anomalies and therefore their resolution.

A project for recycling and treating CIP (Cleaning in place) water has also been launched^*. Cleaning water is recovered, sorted and treated to obtain softened water that can be reused in certain industrial process steps. Implementing this solution will save 15 to 20% of the site's overall water consumption.
