Maintain a zero-final-waste policy
For many years, SILAB has produced no final waste! To maintain this policy in spite of increased activities, considerable work is being done upstream to reduce the quantity of waste generated and downstream to find solutions for its potential reuse. The results have remained stable: waste is either recycled (92%) or incinerated to produce energy (8%).
In parallel, SILAB also practices the optimized management of the end-of-life of its equipment by donations to local associations (computer monitors outdated after an annual program of renewing IT hardware, used personal protection garments for animal shelters, etc.).
A major project of centralizing the site’s waste management in under way to remain in step with the development of its activities.
