Waste

For many years, SILAB's aim has been to produce no final waste! To maintain this policy in spite of increased activities, considerable work is being done upstream to reduce the quantity of waste generated and downstream to find solutions for its potential reuse. Waste is either recycled (84%) or incinerated to produce energy (6%). The company is now working on the remaining part linked to investments and site renovations in order to identify appropriate waste treatment solutions. 

In parallel, SILAB also practices the optimized management of the end-of-life of its equipment by donations to local associations (computer monitors outdated after an annual program of renewing IT hardware, used personal protection garments for animal shelters, etc.). 

A major project of centralizing the site’s waste management in under way to remain in step with the development of its activities.
